My event is mainly older/younger people. Will your music be suitable?
Yes! We strive to have an inclusive set-list that appeals to all age groups, but we can be flexible with our repertoire. For example, we can focus on hits from the 60s and 70s for a more mature crowd and for younger audiences we can play more modern pop and rock. Is there anything we need to provide?
As a professional functions band, Red Shift supplies everything needed to ensure your event is a success such as PA, lighting and backline equipment. However, there are a few things you can provide that would make our jobs a lot easier. For example, a room in which the band can get ready and access during the event would be really helpful. We also appreciate a meal being provided so the band is on top form!
Does the band need anything at the venue?
Not really – we’ve performed in a range of venues such as marquees, manor houses, museums, gardens, private residences and casinos. We only need enough space to play and access to at least two plug sockets that are not in use for anything else such as DJs or lighting.
How long do you need to set up?
This can vary depending on the venue and the size of the band, but generally 60-90 minutes should be plenty of time for us to set up and soundcheck.
We have a specific song in mind for our first dance. Do you know it?
This is a common request, and one that Red Shift are happy to accommodate. Provided you let us know your choice of song well in advance, we can have it ready to perform at your wedding or ceremony!
Where are you based?
Our members come from London and the South-East but we travel all over. Please note that depending on the location of your event, there may be a small additional travel charge.
The venue is asking if you’re insured – are you?
Yes, we have public liability insurance through the Musicians Union.
Can Red Shift supply a DJ?
We can organize background party music to be played before, between and after our sets. If you’d like a dedicated DJ we can book one on your behalf – just let us know.
How long do you play for?
Generally, Red Shift performs 2 x 45min sets. If you need us to play longer this can be arranged!
Do we need to pay a deposit?
Yes, we require a 25% deposit to secure your booking. The remainder of the fee can be settled after the event.
